Performance Bodywork is a style of bodywork I have practiced and developed over the many years of working with people with all types of pain and dysfunction. During this time, I have developed a passion for working with athletes, dancers and musicians. I find the art of always working toward an achievement tends to bring a heightened awareness of when something is “off” or not quite working as expected.
Finding the issue is my expertise utilizing various assessment techniques. Then I can start to match what I see with what you are feeling and the treatment plan reveals itself. Bringing in the right bodywork or manual therapy technique at the right time will achieve the results you are looking for, release and restorative movement.
My techniques are all gentle but go deep. The deeper we go the slower the “move”. An increased time element allows for the tissue to respond, rehydrate and become free.
I am an expert level JFB Myofascial Therapist and craniosacral therapist. I also use positional release and muscle energy techniques. Acupressure points or energy work can also help the bodywork to hold.
Equally important is making sure the movement challenge you were experiencing has shifted and an improved function has neurologically integrated into your new normal way of movement, completing the treatment.
Occasionally some homework is recommended for you to strengthen the corrective work into your activities.
